November 2024:

The Mountain Fire, which began on November 6, 2024, has spread rapidly, consuming over 20,000 acres, leading to evacuations and worsening air quality across Ventura County.

September, 2024:

Southern California wildfires fueled by high winds and excessive heat have burned more than 100,000 acres in San Bernardino, Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
  • Thousands of firefighters are battling extreme winds and dry conditions:
  • widespread power outages affect 200,000 people and thick smoke blankets neighborhoods far beyond evacuation zones.

In an emergency, every second counts. And so does every penny.

Before the Los Angeles wildfires, insurers such as State Farm started to pull out of fire-prone California.

How much damage have the wildfires caused so far?

Thousands of properties have been damaged or destroyed and owners are uncertain whether insurance will cover for them. The ongoing fires could become the most expensive in terms of insured losses in California history, with analysts estimating that losses could approach $100bn.
